Sammy Wandell was a baseball player in manual high school. He also won the Babe Ruth award.

Rache Palinbaum owned a pool hall in Alma, CO, and managed the Alma baseball team. He came to Colorado in 1885 at age 20, worked in mining, went into the saloon business, and served on the Alma Town Board. He died in 1936 at age 71.
